Armenak Artsruni opened the famous ‘Studio Armand’ in Cairo in the late 1930s. It was one of the three or four prominent photographic studios in Cairo – the others being Studio Alban and Van Leo. Artsruni’s speciality was wedding photography, but he was a prolific and talented practitioners working in many genres of studio photography. After his death, Armenak’s son took over the business and continued to work under the same brand name.
