Unknown photographer, Egypt (1950s-60s)

1950s-60s (active)
Nationality: Armenian/Egyptian
Place of Activity: Egypt

Most probably an amateur photographer who lived in Alexandria. The snapshot in Lusadaran’s collection (catalogue PHT-00091) features a young woman who appears in a number of other similar snapshots by the same photographer that are obviously staged and performed for the camera. The negatives were developed and printed in the ‘London Photo Service, Alexandria’ as photographic postcards, meant to be sent to relatives and friends overseas. Unfortunately none of the prints have any information regarding the identity of the woman or the specific nature of these images. A group of these photographs was listed on Ebay in 2009, from which Lusadaran’s print comes from.
